With over 50 properties onsite, Waiheke Island Resort is the largest accommodation provider on Waiheke & our elevated estate overlooks Palm Beach, Mawhitipana Bay & the greater Hauraki Gulf.
We are a hillside location - meaning that to access each property onsite guests will be required to walk up or down inclined pathways, steps &/or stairways (in some cases multiple stairways). Our staff are always available to assist guests with access & we can assure you that the spectacular views enjoyed from our accommodations are worth the effort!

Waiheke Island - The Jewel of the Hauraki Gulf
Waiheke Island is the second-largest island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand.
Its ferry terminal in Matiatia Bay at the western end is 21.5 km from the central-city terminal in Auckland. It is the most populated island in the gulf, with 9,100 permanent residents, and the third most populous island in New Zealand.

Getting around
Waiheke Island is just a 45 minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland or 55 minutes from Half Moon Bay. Fullers ferries operate from the Auckland downtown ferry terminal to Waiheke’s Matiatia Wharf with over 20 fast ferry trips daily. Sealink operates the vehicular ferry from Half Moon Bay to Waiheke’s Kennedy Point which also caters for foot passengers.
Once on Waiheke, The Resort is only 10 minutes drive from either arrival point, we can arrange your transport whether you are alone or with a group of up to 150.
The Resort also has a range of Veletrix E-Bikes available for guest hire. Able to transverse most of the Island’s interior on one charge, our E-Bikes are available for half or full-day hire – call Reception on (09) 372 0011 or email reservations@thewaihekegroup.co.nz to book.
